Infant Toddler Specialist
Kelsey grew up in Lakewood, Ohio, and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in 2013. During her time there, she had the opportunity to work at the NAEYC-accredited Child Development Center, which inspired her commitment to high-quality, developmentally appropriate practice as well as a deep knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach. Kelsey’s pedagogy is influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach, in which teachers view children as competent and capable learners who coconstruct knowledge alongside teachers.
In 2014 Kelsey returned to pursue a Master’s in Critical Studies in Educational Foundations and joined the Child Development Center as a preschool teacher working with children aged 2.5 years to 5 years in both mixed aged groups and single age groups. Kelsey spent seven years teaching and mentoring student teachers. Finally in 2020 she earned her graduate degree after writing a thesis on the connection between storytelling and moral development. In 2022 and 2024, Kelsey welcomed her two children and spent time at home caring for them and working as home childcare provider. Kelsey enjoys being outside and active and can find humor in almost anything.
